What is SXsocial?
SXsocial is the official communications hub for SXSW Registrants. Once you have registered to attend SXSW, you can log in to keep contact information up-to-date, communicate with the SXSW Housing Desk and upload your badge photo.
SXSW Registrants can also search for and message other attendees, add links to Twitter, Facebook, etc. and tag their profiles with interests.
Coming soon, users will be able build personal SXSW schedules, and more. Have an idea for SXsocial? let us know.
How do I reset my password?
It's simple. Just go to the login page and click the link that says, “Forgot your password?”. Enter your email address and reset instructions will be emailed to you.
My Profile & Private Contact Information
Is my profile visible to the public?
No. SXsocial profiles are only visible to other SXSW registrants if you have the "Public" option selected in your privacy settings. If you change your privacy settings to “Private” you can still communicate with the Housing Desk, however, you will not be able to search for, message or be found by other registrants.
How do I change my privacy settings?
First, click on the “Home” tab in the top-level navigation. Then, click the "Edit Profile" button on the left side of the screen. You can now change your privacy setting. Remember to click the "Update Profile" button when complete.
How do I edit my profile or change my private contact information?

How do I make a hotel request?
First, log in to SXsocial if you have not already. Then, click the "Hotel Requests" button in the top-level navigation. And follow the link "Click here to request your hotel for SXSW" to complete your hotel request in the SXSW Hotel Requester.
How do I change my request?
First, login to SXsocial if you have not already. Then, click the "Hotel Request" button in the top-level navigation. And follow the link "SXSW Hotel Requester" to complete your hotel request change in the SXSW Hotel Requester.
How do I cancel my request?
First, log in to SXsocial if you have not already. Then, click the "Hotel Request" button in the top-level navigation. And follow the link "click here" to cancel your hotel request.

How to Use Search
After you log into your SXsocial account, click on the “Directory” button in the main navigation. You will see three tabs: Simple search, advanced search and starred users.
Simple search: Using simple search is, well, simple! Just enter any word or combination of words and user profile information, biographies and tags will all be searched and the results will be displayed below.
Advanced search: By using advanced search, you can refine your search terms and search by full name, company, title, city, state and more. Simply enter any combination of these search terms and SXsocial’s advanced search will quickly filter your results.
Starred users: This tab stores anyone that you have “starred” within SXsocial. Simply click on this tab and see a full list of all the registrants you have starred for easy reference.
How to Add Links & Tags
Adding links to your SXsocial profile allows other SXSW registrants to get in touch with you. Linking to your Twitter, Facebook, Flickr or LinkedIn accounts helps you continue to build on the personal and/or professional relationships you established during the event.
Adding links: Log into your SXsocial account and click the “Edit Profile” button on the left. Scroll down to where you see “Add/Remove Links”. You can add a link by entering the page’s URL into the field and clicking the “Add Link” button. You can also link your email address by preceding your email with 'mailto:'
Adding tags to your profile will help other SXSW Registrants find you based on your interests, job and/or where you are from. For example, you can add tags like “director”, “social media”, “tech” or “Chicago”.
Adding tags: Log into your SXsocial account and click the “Edit Profile” button on the left and scroll down to where you see “TAGS”. Enter in any words you would like to tag yourself with and make sure each is comma-separated. Click “update profile” and your tags will appear on your homepage next to “My Tags”.
How do I upload my photo to SXsocial?
Click on the “Edit Profile” button on your homepage and you will see a button that says “Choose File”. Click on that button and a window that lets you to select an image will appear. Once you have selected your image you can crop it to show the best view of your image.
